Even though Kodiak is the 2nd largest island in the United States, it has less than 90 miles of road to explore. Outdoor activities abound - countless hiking trails exist and there is fantastic sport fishing along the road system and saltwater fishing from local charter operations. ATV and outdoor adventure companies offer day tours to the outreaches of the Kodiak road system. There is also couple of museums in downtown Kodiak which explore the rich cultural history found on the island.
